Welcome to Idiomanic, where fiction and expression collide!
Our mission is to offer intelligent, critical discussion of film, literature, and any other realm of fiction, free of the hyperbolic rage and worship that have become so prevalent on the World Wide Web. We hope to engage you in these conversations not as fans but as passionate adults and provide you with the ultimate forum of expression. To that end, the Idiomanic crew presents you with five channels to be updated every week, Monday to Friday:
Monday: Top Three
In this bi-weekly podcast series, Dimitri and his rotating panel of guests each list their top three of any category your heart desires, from the best movie spinoffs to the most bizarre behaviours only found in fiction. If you would like to suggest a topic for a future episode, please write us here.
Tuesday: Movie Vault
Why review only the latest theatrical fair when there are so many other motion pictures to discuss? Every Tuesday, we share our thoughts on new DVD releases, long forgotten classics, and hidden gems from the vault.
Wednesday: Don’t F with the Original
Inspired by the famous one-liner in Scream 4 (2011), this weekly podcast series takes a look at the latest remakes, reboots, sequels, and adaptations gracing the silver screen. Join Dimitri and his rotating panel of guests as they evaluate whether these films live up to their source material.
Thursday: Dumb Ways to Die
Which slasher victims best demonstrate the life-saving importance of basic common sense? Find out in these fortnightly videos that review scary movies of yore and pick out their most absurd death scenes. If you would like us to tackle a specific film, please write us here.
Friday: In Theatres
Tired of all the angry rants accusing every director of being a hack or of all the lavish praise bestowed on cult filmmakers who can apparently do no wrong? Every Friday, we share our thoughts on the new movies opening in theatres, both rage and gush free.
For extra material, you can also follow our Twitter feed or join us on Facebook, where Frank relays all the latest news and memes related to entertainment. Most importantly, please share with us your thoughts and opinions. We love feedback, and never shy away from a healthy, respectful debate. After all, Idiomanic is, as we mentioned, where fiction and expression collide!
